About Us

Soil and Water Conservation Districts are political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota established to carry out a program for the conservation, use and development of soil, water and related resources.

Leadership and governance is provided by boards of five (5) locally elected Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors. Supervisors have the authority to carry out conservation programs and to cooperate with any land occupier within the district, with any state or federal agency and with any private organization

Soil and Water Conservation Districts perform a variety of functions in coordinating and implementing resource programs. District activities fall into three general categories: 1) implementing state resource programs, 2) implementing local resource programs, and 3) implementing federal resource programs.
